Tessa Price – Integrative Counsellor

Trauma, Anxiety and Difficult Life Experiences

I’m Tessa Price, a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor with experience working across a range of organisations and charities.

My work has included supporting adults experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, trauma, abuse and significant changes in life. I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, particularly when the things you want to talk about are difficult or painful.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on the individual and what they bring to counselling. My way of working includes person-centred therapy, transactional analysis and cognitive behavioural approaches, allowing sessions to be shaped around your experiences, circumstances and what you want to explore.

Person-centred counselling gives you space to talk openly without judgement and at a pace that feels right for you. Transactional analysis can help us explore patterns in how you think, feel and respond, including how earlier experiences may influence the present. Cognitive behavioural approaches can also help us look at the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours and explore practical ways of responding differently.

I have particular experience around trauma and abuse, including sexual abuse, domestic abuse, physical abuse and coercive behaviour. When working with difficult experiences, I place a strong emphasis on creating a supportive environment where you can decide what you feel ready to explore.

My role is not to tell you what you should do or promise a particular outcome. Counselling gives us space to better understand what is happening for you, explore patterns and experiences and work together in a way that feels appropriate for you.

Reviews

After going through a number of therapists both online and offline left me feeling helpless regarding the therapy and three sessions with Tessa changed that altogether. I am working forward each sessions which is new. She’s great, insightful and soo much more. I recommend her to anyone, especially demanding psychology nerds like

I was a bit unsure of how comfortable I would be in opening up to someone when starting therapy, but Tessa put me at ease and built a trusting relationship with me very quickly. She assured me that we would move at my own pace and only talk about things that I felt safe and comfortable to in any given moment. I always feel lighter after my sessions with Tessa, even when we delve into difficult topics, she always makes sure to check that I feel in a good frame of mind to end the session and I am making noticeable progress with each session.

I would highly recommend Tessa!

Tess is an amazing therapist who has helped me through a difficult experience in my life. She is an extremely empathetic, understanding and honest person. Tess gives me new tools every week which are personalised and empowering for me. I could not recommend her enough

Frequently Asked Question

Yes. Your sessions are treated as confidential and our coaches and counsellors are expected to follow appropriate professional confidentiality standards.

There may be limited circumstances where information needs to be shared, such as where there is a serious concern about safety or where disclosure is required by law. Your provider can explain their confidentiality arrangements at the start of your work together.

That’s completely okay. The relationship you have with your coach or counsellor matters, and sometimes the first person you speak to won’t feel like the right fit.

If that happens, let us know and we’ll help you explore another provider.

  • Single session: £85
  • 5 sessions: £400 (save £25)
  • 10 sessions: £800 (save £50)

We keep pricing simple and transparent.

Every session will be different depending on whether you choose coaching or counselling and the provider you work with.

You can expect a confidential, non-judgemental space where you have time to talk openly about what is going on for you. A coach may focus more on goals, change and practical next steps, while counselling may give you space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in greater depth.

Your provider will work at a pace that feels appropriate for you.

Sessions usually last 50–60 minutes and can be:

  • Phone
  • Video call
  • Face-to-face (where available)

Coaching is generally more focused on where you are now, where you would like to get to and the changes you want to make. Counselling provides space to explore emotions, experiences and difficulties in greater depth.

There is no fixed script. Your sessions should develop around what you need and what you feel comfortable discussing.
