Onward Shift exists to make mental health support easier to find and easier to talk about across the construction industry. We support people, companies and education providers through professional support, lived-experience conversations, practical resources and opportunities to connect. Our aim is to help more people speak up, find the right support and know they do not have to face things alone.
We want to see a construction industry where mental health is treated with the same seriousness as physical safety. Our vision is to make practical, trusted support easier to access for individuals, companies and education providers, helping create workplaces and learning environments where people feel able to talk openly, seek support earlier and confidently look out for one another every day.
We approach people with empathy, patience and without judgement. Everyone’s experience is different, and everyone deserves to feel heard.
Support should feel accessible to everyone. We want Onward Shift to be a place where different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives are respected.
We believe in honest conversations. We don’t pretend mental health is simple, and we’re comfortable talking about the difficult parts as well as the positive ones.
Progress can look different for everyone. Sometimes it means making a big change; sometimes it simply means taking the next small step.
Construction is built around people working together. We want to create more opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and realise they don’t have to deal with everything alone.
