Onward Shift exists to make mental health support easier to find and easier to talk about across the construction industry. We support people, companies and education providers through professional support, lived-experience conversations, practical resources and opportunities to connect. Our aim is to help more people speak up, find the right support and know they do not have to face things alone.
We want to see a construction industry where mental health is treated with the same seriousness as physical safety. Our vision is to make practical, trusted support easier to access for individuals, companies and education providers, helping create workplaces and learning environments where people feel able to talk openly, seek support earlier and confidently look out for one another every day.

Onward Shift was built from lived experience of both construction and mental health struggles. We understand the pressure, long hours, site culture and the tendency to keep things to yourself and carry on. That’s why everything we offer is built around the realities of the construction industry.
We don’t believe there is one answer to mental health. Some people may want to speak to a counsellor. Others may benefit from coaching, a podcast, a toolbox talk, a workshop, an event or simply reading something that makes them feel understood.
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your workforce or your students, Onward Shift gives you somewhere to start.
