I am trained in Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamics. I specialise in Relationship and Family Counselling, Dementia and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, work-related stress and breakdowns. I also have vast experience of bereavement counselling.
I am a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and am a member of the British Psychological Society.
I offer individual therapy, couple Counselling, family therapy and Supervision.
I also offer EMDR sessions. Currently at a reduced fee per session, as I am recently trained.
In addition, I offer family/group therapy (up to 4 people) for people who have recently been diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and their families/friends.
I have many years experience (9+ years) of working with Carers/family members who care for their loved ones who are living with Dementia. When caring for a loved one, our own emotions and feelings can sometimes be forgotten. However, by having the opportunity to offload it may help to come to terms with the loss of the person they were before Dementia.
I have vast experience of working with clients living with anxiety, depression, panic attacks and work-related stress. By offering open-ended Counselling sessions, this has aided my clients to build themselves up from needing a length of time off work, to continue their working life or create a new work and life journey.
I have been working and volunteering as a Counsellor for over 7 years now and I have rounded experience in helping and working with clients through a variety of issues. I aim to provide my clients with the best therapeutic process in order for them to gain the most out of their counselling sessions.
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and have experience of working with Carers, people living with dementia and their families.
I have previously worked with adolescents (2 school years) in Senior schools, by having one-to-one sessions, covering a variety of issues, including bullying, self-harm, abuse and young carer role.
I feel by having hands on experience, personal experience and professional experience, helps me to be more empathetic.
I was a Dementia Support Worker and a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Practitioner for over 3 years and I have experience of running 24-week CST (http://www.cstdementia.com) programmes for clients that have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I offer relationship counselling for members of families who have a loved one that is living with dementia. For example, siblings of a parent or a spouse and daughter/son of someone living with dementia.
By having the opportunity to offload and express feelings of being in a carer role and coming to terms with the loss of the person they once knew, could help families work more closely together and give them the opportunity to offload.
I offer Online therapy via WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime or Zoom, so am able to offer counselling at more flexible times and days.
In addition, I have a counselling room in Chelmsford, Southend and offer Walk and Talk therapy along Southend Seafront – sea air can do wonders for relieving stress and tension, which I feel can only add to the therapeutic process.

Setting expectations is inevitable when it comes to relationships, whether romantic, family, or friendships; however, setting high expectations can often lead to disappointment and strain.
